Are
You Connected?
NCTE will soon open its Connected Community, a place where members will meet colleagues with
similar interests, discuss classroom ideas, explore research, and
share professional materials. Highlights will include a member
directory, a resource library and literacy Wikipedia, news of member
accomplishments, and more.
One
more way to stay connected with NCTE, its members, other leaders, and
the profession is by reading NCTE's INBOX.
This e-newsletter, now sent to members every week and nonmembers
just once a month, keeps you up to date on news in literacy
education, offers ideas for your classroom and resources for
professional learning, and spotlights the work and expertise of
members and leaders in NCTE's sections (elementary, middle level,
secondary, college) and constituent groups (CEE, CCCC, CEL, WLU,
TYCA).

Many Council groups -- affiliates, assemblies, sections (elementary,
middle level, secondary, and college), committees, commissions,
conferences (CCCC, CEE, CEL, WLU), and associations (TYCA) -- hold
sessions, luncheons, or workshops during the Convention; search the Convention
Program for these events (working meetings aren't
listed in the program; if you need information on when your group is
meeting, please contact your group's chair or NCTE).
Centennial
5K Fun Run/Walk
When
you register for the 2010 Convention, be sure to sign up for the Centennial 5K Fun Run/Walk,
to be held on Saturday, November 20, at 6:15 a.m. The 5K course will take you around the beautiful Coronado Springs Resort. Funds raised for this event will benefit the NCTE Centennial Celebration at next year's Convention in Chicago.
