Plan to attend the Day of Whole Language Opening Session, Creating Cultures of Literacy through Inquiry, at the NCTE Annual Convention this November in Philadelphia on Friday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. featuring Heidi Mills and Tim O'Keefe.
Faculty from three diverse elementary schools across the country will share the beliefs and practices that have been foundational in creating cultures of literacy through inquiry. In all three settings, literacy is used as a primary tool for learning, for inspiring conversations, posing powerful questions, developing units of study, and taking critical social action.
