Meet These NCTE Volunteers - Previous Revision

NCTE extends its appreciation to the many volunteers who have helped the Council in countless ways.


Jacquelyn Harris is K–12 Communication Arts Instruction Curriculum Coordinator for the Normandy School District in St. Louis, Missouri. Throughout her 41 years in education, she has taught first through tenth grades and has served in many other teaching and administrative capacities.

Bobbi Ciriza Houtchens teaches at Arroyo Valley High School in San Bernardino, California. She participated in “The Expanding Canon: Teaching Multicultural Literature in High School,” a professional development television series that was produced in collaboration with NCTE. She chronicles some of her many other activities in the following interview.
