Members of NCTE have elected Susan Houser to the office of Vice President of NCTE. Houser is an English language arts middle/elementary teacher for the Pinellas/Duval counties in Florida and a TBAWP teacher consultant. She has served NCTE in numerous capacities including NCTE Middle Level Representative-at-Large (2005-07), NCTE Nominating (2010) and Middle Level (2009) Nominating Committees, local arrangements chair for the 2010 NCTE Annual Convention, president and executive board member for the Florida Council of Teachers of English, and a teacher at Thurgood Marshall Middle School (2005-07, 2013). Houser will take office during the NCTE Annual Convention in Washington, DC, in November, will become president-elect in 2015, and will assume the presidency of the Council during the 2016 Annual Convention in Atlanta.
