Candidates needed for the 2009 ballots
Elementary Section:
two candidates (Elementary Section members) for the Elementary Section Steering Committee; one to be elected
six candidates (NCTE members) for the 2009-10 Elementary Section Nominating Committee; three to be elected
Middle Level Section:
four candidates (Middle Level Section members) for the Middle Level Section Steering Committee; two to be elected
six candidates (NCTE members) for the 2009-10 Middle Level Section Nominating Committee; three to be elected
Secondary Section:
two candidates (Secondary Section members) for the Secondary Section Steering Committee; one to be elected
six candidates (NCTE members) for the 2009-10 Secondary Section Nominating Committee; three to be elected
College Section:
eight candidates (College Section members) for the College Section Steering Committee; four to be elected
six candidates (NCTE members) for the 2009-10 College Section Nominating Committee; three to be elected
Conference on English Education (CEE): - six candidates (NCTE/CEE members) for the CEE Executive Committee; three to be elected
- eight candidates (NCTE/CEE members) for the 2009-10 CEE Nominating Committee; five to be elected
Two-Year College English Association (TYCA):

IT IS IMPORTANT to submit nominations by November 1, 2008, but nominations will also be accepted at the Annual Convention in San Antonio. Nominations can be submitted during the Annual Business Meeting on Friday, November 21, 2008, (Marriott Rivercenter, Salon F, 3rd Floor), and at the open sessions of the Nominating Committees' meetings:
Saturday, November 22, 2008, Noon-12:45 p.m., Marriott Rivercenter, Salon A, 3rd Floor
Sunday, November 23, 2008, 8:00-9:00 a.m., Convention Center, Room 205
NOTE: Most nominating committees contact only those individuals who will be formally invited to run for office. Results of the NCTE Section, CEE, and TYCA Nominating Committees' deliberations are announced on the NCTE website and in the appropriate March and April journals. If you wish to notify your nominees before then, you can get the final slate of candidates by contacting Linda Walters at NCTE Headquarters after February 1, 2009.
