Candidates needed for the 2011 NCTE ballot
Vice President -- three candidates drawn from the Secondary Section (Section means voting section, regardless of teaching level): one to be elected
Elementary Representative-at-Large -- two candidates who must be classroom teachers (grades K-5) at the time of the nomination; members of the Elementary Section: one to be elected
Middle Level Representative-at-Large -- two candidates who must be classroom teachers (grades 6-8) at the time of the nomination; members of the Middle Level Section: one to be elected
Trustees of the Research Foundation -- members of NCTE: two candidates needed, one to be elected
NCTE Nominating Committee for 2011-12 -- three candidates (members of appropriate NCTE Sections) from each of the following regions, one to be elected from each region:
Group A: Canada, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont (members of the College Section)
Group B: Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington (members of the Secondary Section)
Group C: Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia (members of the Elementary Section)
Group D: Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming (members of the Middle Level Section)

IT IS IMPORTANT to submit nominations by November 1, 2010, but nominations will also be accepted at the Annual Convention in Orlando. Nominations can be submitted during the Annual Business Meeting on Friday, November 29, 2010, (Coronado/Coronado Ballroom J), and at the open sessions of the Nominating Committees' meetings:
Saturday, November 20, 2010, Noon-12:45 p.m., Yacht & Beach/Hampton Room
Sunday, November 21, 2010, 8:00-9:00 a.m., Coronado/Coronado Ballroom K
NOTE: Most nominating committees contact only those individuals who will be formally invited to run for office. Results of the NCTE Nominating Committee's deliberations are announced in the March Council Chronicle and on the NCTE website. If you wish to notify your nominees before then, you can get the final slate of candidates by contacting Linda Walters at NCTE Headquarters after February 1, 2011.

Submit Petitions to Add Candidates to the 2011 Ballot
