Responsibilities and Activities
The nominating committee, composed of the TYCA Executive Committee Immediate Past Chair (who serves as Chair of the TYCA Nominating Committee) and the seven regional representatives, shall prepare a ballot of two candidates for each of the nationally elected positions.
To the extent possible, nominations should strive to reflect the diversity of TYCA membership, drawing from full- and part-time teachers, from the seven regional associations, and from those TYCA members who do not belong to the regional associations. The election process shall be completed before the fall meeting of the TYCA Executive Committee.
The Associate Chair and Secretary are elected by a national ballot mailed to all members of National TYCA, members of NCTE whom subscribe to Teaching English in the Two-Year College. The Associate Chair serves a four-year term, with one year as Associate Chair, two years as Chair, and one year as Past Chair. The Secretary serves a three-year term.
