General Questions and Policies

What if I cannot attend all the live events?  Will I be able to view the presentation(s) at another time?
All sessions will be recorded and available as a download to the registrant via email immediately following the live event. All handouts, powerpoints, and other presentation materials will be available as part of the recording.  We encourage schools have at least one representative in the live event if a gathering by a group is not possible at the time of the live event.

Can I earn continuing education credit with NCTE’s Virtual Conference?
All registered participants in the live sessions will receive an e-mail documenting the clock hours earned for participation. If more than one person is particpating at your connection be sure to contact us with a roster of participants from your site. We will want to award credit for all attending.  We do not offer college credit for this conference. Check with your school to see if they have chosen to provide continuing education credit for participation in these virtual events.

Will there be any handouts before/after the session?
Every session will be a little different, but in some cases you will receive book chapters, journal articles, or others materials to read in advance of the session.  These materials will also be available in the recording.

How far ahead of time should I login to a session?
The first time you prepare to participate we recomend you check your computer at least  one day in advance.  We recomend you login to the first session at least 15 minutes in advance to check your connection and sound.

How can I complete a program evaluation?
All virtual conference participants will receive a link to the survey in an email sent to participants following the live event.

Can I participate if I live outside of the US?
Absolutely! For no additional cost, you can participate in the virtual conference as long as you meet the minimum technical requirements listed below.

What if I am registered and I cannot attend the Live event?

With one Virtual Conference purchase, can I assemble a large group to participate in a Web seminar?
Absolutely. Your purchase of a connection is for one log-in, but the presentation can be viewed by additional people through use of an LCD or other forms of technology.

How will all the teachers in my school gain access to the private area of the NING?
When a school connection is purchased, you will be sent information regarding the names and e-mails of participants.  NCTE will then send an invitation to join the private area of the NING.
