These sessions will be of particular interest to two-year college educators:

Friday, November 19

From the Ground Up: Program Assessment at Daytona State College (C)
A.55 -- 9:30-10:45 a.m.

In the fall of 2008, facing administrative pressure to provide data for program review, writing faculty at Daytona State College (a 2-year college offering limited 4-year degrees) created a grassroots assessment initiative. Almost two years into the process, it's time to re-evaluate, hone our instruments, and reflect on our purpose.

Teachers Together for Students: Dual Enrollment and Literate LIves (S-C)
B.47 -- 11:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Panelists will discuss dual enrollment experiences at their two- and four-year institutions, focusing on how teachers and students negotiate intersections of high school and college learning created by early college programs. This highly interactive session will offer numerous opportunities for audience members to contribute to the discussion.

Pen and Paper to Web 2.0: Teachers and Students Moving through Multiple Learning Modalities (C)
C.46 -- 12:30-1:45 p.m.

This session uses a single text to demonstrate how best practices can be revitalized in the basic writing classroom through multiple technologies. Using pen and paper as the instrument of the writing process can be augmented by multiple digital platforms that tap into emerging technologies our students already embrace.

Forward: Pathways to Student Success (C)
D.51 -- 2:30-3:45 p.m.
