We are the most powerful literacy organization in this country. And we are the oldest literacy organization in this country. We have the power to act. We have the moral obligation to act.
—Ernest Morrell, Presidential Address, NCTE Annual Convention, November 2014
Many of us know the Council as an organization that provides thoughtful, peer-reviewed journals and books and hosts professional meetings. But there is much more to NCTE than that. NCTE provides a host of services to enrich teacher and student learning, advance research, preserve intellectual freedom, and support educator agency.
To continue our important collective work, we need members like you who are willing to spread the news of the importance of NCTE membership to their colleagues through one of the following methods:
- I would like NCTE to invite colleagues to become a member
- I would like NCTE to invite colleagues to become a member using my name on the invitation
- I would like to personally invite colleagues to join me in NCTE.
Can we count on you, our member and most important asset, in reaching our goals?
