Mary-Catherine MoranAfter almost 30 years in education, Mary Catherine Moran (M.C) maintains an avid enthusiasm for her work. She credits this to the countless number of children, families, classroom teachers and administrators she has been fortunate to meet who have generously shared their perspective over the years. M.C. has been a classroom teacher, a Special Education Training Specialist, and a literacy coach. She is a skilled facilitator, has national and international experience in educational consulting, and promotes a differentiated approach to professional learning. Additionally, she can provide technical assistance and professional learning opportunities on literacy issues such as using data to inform instruction,assessment, exemplary literacy practices and differentiated instruction aligned to learning standards. Her professional experience includes extensive work with migrant children, second language learners, and students with disabilities.

Education and Professional Experiences
Mary-Catherine has a M.S. from Syracuse University in Special Education and an M.S. in Literacy from State University of New York at Albany. She is the Senior Literacy Specialist at the Eastern Stream Center; a research foundation program based at the State University College in Oneonta, New York. The Eastern Stream Center is partner with three federally funded comprehensive centers and in this capacity M.C. works with educators from the East coast.
Literacy Coaching Standards
These standards for middle and high school teachers were developed by NCTE and IRA in 2005. M.C. presents workshops on integrating the new standards and their implications for building or improving a literacy coaching program.
ELL Pathways
ELL Pathways is an online professional development opportunity for teachers, coaches and administrators to develop understanding and skills in working with English language learners. Essential questions, video clips, related readings and tools for classroom application guide individuals or groups in an investigation of how to increase achievement levels of ELL students.
