  • 2004 US Department of Education.  Consultant and Working Groups, American institutes for Research:  Evaluation of the Impract of Explisict Literacy Instruction on Adult ESL Learners
  • 2005 Mentor for TESOL Elementary Interest Section Action Research Project
  • 2000 Classroom Research Project at Indian Creek Elementary School, Atlanta, Georgia. Designed and implemented research with Dr. Diane Mancus on teaching academic writing to fourth-grade learners of English.
  • 1983 Middle School Instructor at The Children's School, Atlanta Georgia.
  • 1975-1976 Reading Instructor at Literacy Action, Atlanta, Georgia. Taught reading individually to adults.
  • 1969-1974 Elementary School Teacher and Unit Leader at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, Syracuse, New York.
    • Taught five years in an inner-city school in multigrade, multilingual, multicultural classrooms.
    • Worked with children from kindergarten through sixth grade.
    • As a unit leader for three years, had administrative responsibilities for a team of seven to nine classroom teachers.
