Secondary Language Arts Coordinator

  • Provided In-Service for Language Arts and Reading teachers 6-12 to advance the Language Arts program goals and initiatives.
  • Worked with the Director of Curriculum to determine Language Arts program goals and initiatives.
  • Provided In-Service for the Secondary staff at large with regard to "Reading and Writing Across the Curriculum."

  • School Improvement Team member for Middle States evaluation.

  • Created curriculum for Applied Communications path.
  • Created curriculum for Honors English 9 and 11.
  • Created Advanced Placement Composition Curriculum for SAHS.
  • Managed the honors program application and admission process for students.
  • Created and managed the implementation of the reading/writing folder.

Processes

  • Using an existing curriculum as a base, Dona revised and taught a course based on the theoretic and practical necessity of teaching Language Arts skills to students across the curriculum, especially in Math and Science.
