 |  | Anne is a former middle and high school teacher, and a professor at the University of Washington. Currently she is a professor at the University of Michigan. At the University of Washington, she founded and directed the Puget Sound Writing Program, where she directed an NEH-sponsored program on writing across the curriculum, from which Roots in the Sawdust: Writing to Learn Across the Disciplines (NCTE 1985) emerged. She authored Writing Groups: History, Theory, and Implications. She is an NCTE past president and chair of the Conference on College Composition and Communication. Anne is available to present on writing, assessment, evaluation, and testing at the middle and secondary levels. |

 | Anne Gere presents on writing, assessment, evaluation and testing at the middle and secondary levels. In the summer of 2005, Anne was a copresenter during "Writing on Demand Workshops" in New York, Florida, and Michigan. She can also present a modified of this workshop to interested schools and districts. | Writing on Demand Workshops
 | Anne Gere joined Leila Christenbury and Kelly Sassi in August 2005 in New York, Texas, and Michigan for three, two-day workshops. Teachers learned strategies for following what they know to be best practices in teaching writing while still helping students prepare for writing tests. In addition, presenters can individually bring this workshop to your school or district.
