Linda CraftonLinda is a former Director of Teacher Education Assessment and Professor of Reading; she is currently doing collaborative classroom research in the areas of multiliteracies and teacher education. Linda has published several books, including Whole Language: Getting Started…Moving Forward, Standards in Practice K – 2, and Challenges of Holistic Teaching. She is a regular presenter at NCTE, AERA, International Reading Association, and Whole Language Umbrella meetings.

She is available to speak to K-12 and college faculty audiences in the following areas: Reading process, Reading/writing Relationships & Curriculum, Multiliteracies, Critical Literacy, Emergent Literacy, Text Sets & Intertextuality, Comprehension Strategies, Assessment & Evaluation, Inquiry Curriculum, Standards in Practice, Constructivist Learning Theory & Practice and Literacy Coaching.

English Leadership Quarterly
Crafton has experience working with faculty to improve their teaching of preservice teachers. In this article from English Leadership Quarterly she posits that teachers needs professors who live the theory they teach as they are teaching them.
NCTE Reading Initiative Program Developer
Linda assisted with the development of the initial NCTE Reading Initiative Inquiry Studies in 1999. These inquiry studies are ideal for year-long discussions like forming study groups, teaching reading, and supporting adolescent learners.
