Pamela ChildersAs a former public high school teacher and writing center director, Pam (Farrell) Childers currently holds the Caldwell Chair of Composition at The McCallie School, an all-boys’ college preparatory school, where she directs the WAC-based writing center, team teaches an interdisciplinary science seminar, and teaches writing and independent study courses. She also teaches the Teaching of Writing in the graduate program at Lesley University and serves as an Executive Editor at The Clearing House, where she mentors professional educators at all academic levels. Her workshops, books and other publications have inspired educators around the world to examine their own institutions from new perspectives, to discover their own strengths, and to create visions to improve their own teaching and the engagement of their students.

Pam is an experienced consultant who can present on writing across the curriculum, creating writing centers, building a high school-college collaboration, portfolios for the assessment of writing, K-16 writing curriculum development, collaborative teaching, and more.

NCTE Publications and Resources
Alternative to Grading Student WritingPam wrote a chapter entitled, "Alternative Assessment Methods across the Disciplines" in the book Alternatives to Grading Student Writing. Pam also published the very popular High School Writing Center: Establishing and Maintaining One for NCTE.
Additional Publications
Additional publication contributions from Pam include books on teaching writing in a visual world, secondary school writing centers, plus chapters and articles focusing on writing across the curriculum, technology, English Studies, assessment, and faculty development.
