ReadWriteThink is a partnership between NCTE, the International Reading Association (IRA), and the MarcoPolo Education Foundation, established in April of 2002.
NCTE and IRA are working together on this site to provide educators and students with access to the highest quality practices and resources in reading and language arts instruction, all through free, Internet-based content.
ReadWriteThink launched in mid-October, 2002, with lesson plans, Web resources, and student materials for elementary and middle school teachers and students. The site now offers the same classroom resources for secondary school teachers and students.
A Call for Authors
In order to provide the best lessons for English language arts teachers, NCTE is seeking educators with the time and the talent to write lesson plans for K-12 English language arts educators. All of the lessons will be of top quality and based on NCTE and IRA's Standards for the English Language Arts. Subjects to be covered include, among others, reading and writing workshop, drama, children's and young adult literature, and critical literacy.
