What is ReadWriteThink?
ReadWriteThink is a free site offering standards-based lesson plans and online resources that integrate Internet content meaningfully into K–12 reading and language arts instruction. The site strives to fulfill our mission of providing educators and students access to the highest quality practices and resources in reading and language arts instruction.
What are ReadWriteThink Student Materials?
ReadWriteThink offers a collection of online Student Materials to support literacy learning in the K-12 classroom. These interactive tools can be used to supplement a variety of lessons and provide an opportunity for students to use technology while developing their literacy skills.
Examining ReadWriteThink Lessons
ReadWriteThink offers a wide array of standards-based lesson plans that meaningfully integrate Internet content into the teaching and/or learning experience. ReadWriteThink lessons are written for the teacher but include student-ready materials such as worksheets, interactives, and reviewed Web resources. Each lesson provides student objectives, detailed instructional plans with Internet content, and appropriate assessments.
Looking at the ReadWriteThink Calendar
The ReadWriteThink Calendar provides links to classroom activities and online resources associated with events in literacy and literature. Each entry includes background information, a classroom activity, lesson plans, Web resources, and related texts.
Resources from the ReadWriteThink Web Gallery
The Web Resources Gallery on ReadWriteThink includes links to the best reading and English language arts resources on the Internet. To that end, we have developed a rigorous set of selection criteria and adopted a thorough review process to ensure that our gallery is a quality resource. Lessons in the gallery can be sorted by grade band, as well as intended audience.
