How CoLEARN can work for you. . .

If you’re using CoLEARN as district- or school-based professional development, or as a component of your individual portfolio, consider these approaches:

CoLEARN for your district:

• CoLEARN as a tool for developing leadership these leaders then spearheading professional development in individual schools.

• Cross-district study groups, based on each of the three strands of study.

CoLEARN for your school:

• Teacher study groups, based on selected professional readings and/or Strands of Study

• Time in department/staff meetings for teachers to respond to a reading invitation or writing engagement. 

CoLEARN for an individual:

• Pursue an inquiry topic accessing professional readings to investigate your own beliefs and questions.

• Share ideas from reading invitations and writing engagements with colleagues across the country through the Online Discussion Forum and thus create your own study group!

CoLEARN for preservice teachers:

• Online access to over 2000 articles and all NCTE journals—provides a flexible coursepack experience.

• Structured reflection activities that can be shared in a bulletin board with practicing and preservice teachers across the country.
