NCTE's 2011 Annual Convention

NCTE Celebrates Its 100th Anniversary in 2011!

What: The 101st Annual Convention of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) in Chicago. On the agenda for the Convention are hundreds of concurrent sessions and workshops focusing on all aspects of the teaching and learning of the English language arts. The theme for this year’s Convention is “Reading the Past, Writing the Future.”

When: Thursday, November 17 - Sunday, November 20, 2011


Where: Chicago, Illinois, where NCTE was founded in 1911, with sessions and workshops being held at the Palmer House Hilton and Chicago Hilton.


Attendees: More than 5,000 English language arts teachers (kindergarten through university) from across the country and the world, as well as librarians, reading specialists, administrators, consultants, and students studying to be teachers.
