IES Puts out The Condition of Education 2017 Report: Higher Education Numbers see Subtle Shifts

The Congress-mandated report provides a snapshot of 50 educational conditions across K-12 programs and postsecondary education.

This recent report compares cohorts of postsecondary students among the 2013-2014, 2014-2015, and 2015-2016 academic school years on such outcomes as persistence, graduation rates, total amount of loans, sources of financial aid, and degree fields awarded.

One statistic, on the academic persistence of first-time postsecondary students over three years, demonstrates that context (e.g., type of institution, SAT/ACT scores, age, and race) matters when it comes to remaining enrolled or graduating from programs with a degree certificate.
