MATELA AT Montana Educators' Conference

Montana Association of Teachers of English Language Arts (MATELA) will have a significant presence at the Montana Educators’ Conference being held in Helena, Montana, October 19-21, 2016. From cultural identity in literature, to Poetry Out Loud, children’s literature and young adult literature, media literacy, Shakespeare for grades 2-5, social justice, to teaching conventions and best-practice pedagogy, presenters will share their expertise and experiences with attendees.

Keynote speakers include Shanna Peeples, 2015 Teacher of the Year, Thursday at 3:00, Helena High School, and Candace Fleming, author of The Family Romanov Friday at 8:00 a.m., Helena High School.

MATELA will hold its business meeting from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Helena High School, room 29; members and interested others are invited to attend.
