Pathways for Teaching and Learning with English Language Learners - Previous Revision

Pathways for Teaching and Learning with English Language Learners is a yearlong professional development experience that addresses the needs of English language learners as they face the challenges of learning academic content while simultaneously  being asked to take on English as an additional language.

This Pathways is based on the NCTE Principles of Effective Professional Development and is organized around five key questions including:

  • In what ways can we plan and facilitate students’ language development while engaging learners in rigorous content?
  • How can we create effective learning environments that facilitate student achievement?
  • How can we provide opportunities for students to use language, learn language, and learn about language?
  • How can we help students actively engage in learning

How does it work?  For more on how Pathways can help you with your ELL needs, take a tour.
