The Pathways Program is one of many professional development opportunities offered by NCTE. Other options include the Consulting Network, Web Seminars and Resource Kits. Based on the NCTE Guideline, Principles of Professional Development, all of these work together to provide the tools, resources, and support that teachers need to make a positive impact on student learning.
Pathways is a yearlong online experience for teachers that is flexible, convenient, and affordable. Focusing on hot-topic issues such as Adolescent Literacy, English Language Learners, and 21st Century Literacies, Pathways gives you the tools and resources you need to:
Teachers Enroll on your own to access resources, participate in a self study, and earn credit.
Schools & Districts Easily customized so that engaging research-based NCTE resources and active participation in professional learning communities serve3 as the foundation for all your local school improvement efforts.
University Classes Gain access to the resources you have come to count on for course materials, and give students the added benefit of a supportive online community and 21st century collaboration tools for feedback and conversation.
