Pathways Professional Development Program - Previous Revision

The Pathways Program is one of many professional development opportunities offered by NCTE. Other options include the Consulting Network, Web Seminars and Resource Kits.  Based on the NCTE Guideline, Principles of  Professional Development, all of these work together to provide the tools, resources, and support that teachers need to make a positive impact on student learning. 

Pathways is a yearlong online experience for teachers that is flexible, convenient, and affordable. Focusing on hot-topic issues such as Adolescent Literacy, English Language Learners, and 21st Century Literacies, Pathways gives you the tools and resources you need to:

• Organize and share your teaching materials
• Participate in Web seminars, podcasts, and chats from experts in the field
• Reflect on teaching practices through classroom videos
• Test strategies and lesson plans in your own classroom
• Design richer learning experiences for both you and your students
• Earn credit
