Literacy in Every Classroom
In January, we return to our classrooms with great aspirations for our students and for ourselves. The opportunity to catch up on my own reading recharged my batteries and left me inspired by the rich classroom examples of teachers using literacy as the bridge to meaningful collaboration. Here are a few that caused me to hit the share button:
There is a contagious energy that jumps from these stories of partnership grounded in literacy. It is clear that the teachers have been impacted by their work together as well as by the students. I find myself wondering about the processes leading to outcomes such as these. It's refreshing when the curtain is pulled back to reveal the realities of the process.
- A group of literacy coaches invites us into their learning and reminds us of the role of professional readings and the conversations worth having when we get together (free login required).
So that others may find inspiration and energy, we invite you to share your story of collaboration, whether it be the artifacts that demonstrate a shared commitment to literacy or the lessons learned from working together.
