2006 Richard W. Halle Award Winner
Karen Morgan Delbridge is the recipient of the NCTE Richard W. Halle Award for Outstanding Middle Level Educator. This award honors a junior high/middle level educator who has worked to promote understanding of the developmental needs and characteristics of young adolescents, especially in the English language arts.
Karen teaches English Language Arts TOSA for grades 7-9 at Johnson Junior High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Wyoming in 2006 in the area of education with an emphsis in curriculum and instruction.
Involved with NCTE for many years, Karen is currently a member of the Reading Commission, representative for Wyoming NCTE/SLATE, received the 2003 NCTE/SLATE Intellectual Freedom Award, and written these NCTE articles:
The Richard W. Halle Award presentation took place during the NCTE Annual Convention in Nashville, Tennessee at the Middle Level Get-Together on Thursday, November 16 from 5:00-6:30 pm.
