The Council Chronicle, NCTE’s member magazine, is intended to inform NCTE members and others about NCTE’s resources and opportunities for ongoing professional development, to report on key issues of concern to ELA educators and administrators at all levels, to spotlight the expertise of NCTE members and leaders on key issues, to develop articles that highlight best practices in teaching the English language arts, composition, and contemporary literacies, and to develop articles that can serve as resources for the education community, the media, and the public.

The Council Chronicle in accordance with NCTE strategic goals and editorial policies of the NCTE publication department. Publicity accorded to any particular point of view does not imply endorsement by the governing bodies or the membership at large, except in announcements of policy where such endorsement is clearly indicated.
