Inquiries into Early Literacy Vivian Vasquez, JoAnne Wong-Kam and Wayne Serebrin The classroom stories in this issue of School Talk are about young children’s and their teachers’ use of literacy to identify strengths within themselves and others and to deepen their understanding of how literacy works and what it makes possible. These students are simultaneously learning literacy, learning about literacy, and learning through literacy.
