    Abstract: Readers who struggle often rely on a limited number of strategies. Reading with a purpose, drawing upon prior knowledge, predicting, confirming and correcting, and effectively sampling visual cues are all key strategies that you can start working into your teaching tomorrow. See the articles in this issue for a description of strategies, as well as examples of their use.
