October 2014: Inspiring Professional Learning
During his keynote at CEL Boston 2013, Eric Sheninger reinforced the use of the term “professional learning” as he encouraged attendees to build a professional learning network (PLN). Fellow keynote Donalyn Miller emphasized that professional development should be considered an investment, not an expense. How do we help teachers continue to grow and thrive in their work as educators? How have individuals exemplified horizontal and vertical movement as they grow? How have individuals exemplified career development that is more cyclical? How are schools and districts allowing for teachers to develop themselves professionally rather than mandating one-size-fits-all workshops? How are leaders taking advantage of the diversity in their departments to design meaningful professional learning opportunities?
Deadline: June 15, 2014.
