"As English studies scholars and as humanists, we are well situated to lend our voices, our thoughts, our theories, and our pedagogy to the conversations about intellectual property issues. Not only are we well situated to do so, but we must do so. This is our wheelhouse: texts, textuality, authorship, authoring, creation, and composing.  As writing changes shape, so must the ways in which we situate ourselves to those changes and to protecting the modes and means by which writing happens, by which texts are approached and analyzed, and by which texts circulate."

—Dànielle Nicole DeVoss, "Intellectual Property in College English and English Studies," p. 544
