"Immigration laws and language laws cannot change the social dynamic of this part of the world. We no longer believe (or, at least, should no longer believe) that we can force, or should even wish, a monolithic society. We Latinas and Latinos are your neighbors, literally and metaphorically. It’s good to know your neighbors in an alienating world." Damián Baca and Victor Villanueva, p. 563
