Since 1911, the National Council of Teachers of
English has been the professional home to English/language arts teachers. NCTE—whether advocating for teachers in
Washington, DC; offering professional development; providing up-to-date
information on research and classroom practices; or providing guidance for
censorship issues or policy decisions—is your
organization. Because you know what you know and what you do in the
classroom makes a profound difference in
what students learn, we want to help you share your enthusiasm for your
professional organization with your colleagues.
To help you spread the word about the Council, we’ve created a new
service with you in mind. We now provide
New Member Kits, which include
journals, membership enrollment forms, and Council
Chronicles for you to share with your colleagues.
