We are currently seeking applicants for the following position:

POLICY AND ALLIANCES ASSOCIATE

The National Council of Teachers of English is looking for a highly motivated Policy And Alliances Associate to work in our Washington, DC office.  The Policy And Alliances    Associate will work with the Director to forward NCTE/NCLE related initiatives, particularly around policy issues, coalition building and participation, and communications.  This position is responsible for attending and reporting out on meetings and  briefings; coordinate the Policy Analysis Initiative;  establishing relationships with key legislative staffers; assisting in preparing briefing materials for policy makers; and assisting in the planning of NCTE Advocacy Day and month.

The qualified applicant will possess previous experience with comparable policy work; proven strategic thinking; familiarity with education issues; excellent communication skills; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
