We are seeking applicants for the following position:

Senior Developer, Finance

The National Council of Teachers of English, a 503(c) professional organization for English educators, is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Senior Developer, Finance.  Primary responsibilities include: overseeing the accounting operations, including supervising personnel performing the accounts payable, payroll and bookkeeping functions; maintaining accurate records of assets; developing and implementing improvements to the internal control systems while maintaining accounting reporting systems that comply with accepted accounting principles, theories, concepts and practices; assisting with the preparation of the annual budget; assisting auditors during the annual audit; and assisting other members of management with questions regarding accounting reports and statements.

Requirements include; experience in financial reporting and projections; experience developing and managing grant budgets, and previous management experience.  The qualified individual will also possess knowledge and understanding of basic theories, principles, methods, and procedures of professional accounting.  A CPA designation is preferred  but not required.  The successful applicant will have experience working with Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and database management software.  They will have up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations that apply to non-profit organizations and general accounting and auditing principles, and the ability to travel.
