We are seeking applicants for the following positions:

 

 

ONLINE OUTREACH SPECIALIST

NCTE, a leading national non-profit membership association for English language arts teachers, is looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and self-motivated Online Outreach Specialist. This full-time professional will create campaigns and messages using print, email, and emerging social media tools to generate sales and engagement with NCTE initiatives, programs, and services for literacy educators.  Position is full time with a competitive salary and benefit package. It is available immediately.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Use analytic tools to define audiences and reach out using various communications media to meet identified professional needs and interests.
  • Create messages, resource collections, and invitations keyed to the professional challenges of literacy educators at various career stages, scholastic levels, and geographic locations.
  • Track, analyze, and report on the success of online campaigns and initiatives.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of key issues and concepts in the literacy education field to help NCTE address the daily challenges facing its members and stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must have extensive experience creating messages and campaigns to persuade, influence or engage a professional or consumer audience.
  • Must be knowledgeable about and interested in social media and online communities.
  • Must be able to actively use analytical tools to identify audience needs, track campaign status, and make sound planning decisions informed by data.
  • Must be comfortable shifting seamlessly between different roles and sets of responsibilities.
  • Must respect the work of literacy educators and be willing and able to stay abreast of trends in this field. Prior experience as an educator is preferred but not required.
  • Must be a self-starter with a proven ability to meet deadlines/respond quickly to opportunities.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.

NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), a professional organization for English educators, is seeking a highly organized, goal-oriented individual to administer NCTE’s internal network and Internet servers.  Administrator will install, configure, test, and update desktop hardware, server hardware, networking hardware and software, and provide technical support. 

Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years windows server experience, 4 years experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS and Exchange, 3 years experience with Cisco hardware, and 2 years of VoIP experience. Experience with SQL Server management and scripting are a plus. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service attitude, excellent trouble-shooting skills, be team oriented, and be a creative, solution provider. A bachelor’s degree is required.
