We are seeking applicants for the following positions: 

READWRITETHINK.ORG ONLINE PUBLICATIONS/CONTENT SPECIALIST

 

We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of ReadWriteThink Online Publications/Content Specialist.  This position is responsible for content acquisition; creation, design, and testing of computer interactives; and communication with educators in the field.  The Online Publications/Content Specialist will also lead training workshops, make presentations, and act as an advisor to classroom teachers, staff developers, and other school leaders on the use of NCTE/RWT professional development resources.

 

The successful applicant will possess a B.A. in English or related field or teaching certificate; working knowledge of K-16 English language arts classrooms; excellent reading, speaking, writing, listening, collaborating, and negotiating skills; strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective relationships with management, co-workers, partner organizations, vendors, and the general public; as well as technical knowledge of HTML and other online educational programs.

SENIOR DIRECTOR, MARKETING AND MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

The National Council of Teachers of English has a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual with proven revenue generation and business and management skills preferably in the education sector.   The newly created position of Senior Director, Marketing and Membership Development is responsible for working with the Executive Director to develop and supervise the implementation of plans to enhance revenue growth, sales expansion, and membership engagement. Responsibilities include designing membership benefits/experiences and short and long-term sales and promotion plans to maximize growth. These should incorporate on-going analysis of audience response in order to enhance or modify subsequent campaigns or product development as necessary and creating a promotions system crafted to support continuous improvement.   The Senior Director is also responsible for supervising 3-5 staff positions.

The qualified applicant will possess a Bachelor degree in applicable field and 7-10 years experience as Senior Director of Marketing, or similar position requiring high level leadership skills in a not for profit organization; proven track record in membership and revenue growth; 3-5 years experience directing the work of a professional staff; strong analytical, writing, and communication skills; proven negotiation skills; ability to establish, maintain, and adhere to budgets; ability to maintain effective relationships with management, employees, and the general public; and the ability to travel.  Additional qualifications necessary include expertise using the full range of promotional media: direct mail, telemarketing, social media, event marketing, one-to-one outreach, and email campaigns.

The National Council of Teachers of English provides a competitive salary and full range of benefits.  Relocation is not available for the position.
