NCTE is devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and language arts at all levels of education. Since 1911, NCTE has provided a forum for the profession, an array of opportunities for teachers to continue their professional growth throughout their careers, and a framework for cooperation to deal with issues that affect the teaching of English.

We are seeking applicants for the following position:
Communications Intern
This position is responsible for working with the communications team to research, prepare and communicate the organization’s positions and news to NCTE members, related organizations, the media, parents, the public, and the NCTE grassroots networks and to track the results of NCTE’s media and public relations efforts. This unpaid position works 15 hours per week and is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in communications or public relations to gain valuable hands-on experience.
The successful applicant will be currently enrolled in a degree program in Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline; will possess excellent oral and written communication skills; and will have knowledge of or ability to quickly and easily learn various computer programs, including all Microsoft Office programs, Internet Explorer, and Outlook.
