WLU is an organization made up of local whole language groups and individual members who come together under the umbrella to network and discuss issues related to whole language theory, research, and pedagogy.

WLU Beliefs
WLU accepts certain beliefs as being common to whole language practitioners
WLU Purpose
WLU provides support for individual members and member groups to improve the quality of learning and teaching at all levels of education.
Teachers Applying Whole Language (TAWL)
These groups provide individual members, usually from the same geographical area, a local network for their interest in whole language.
WLU Executive Board
The Executive Board is responsible for making all on-going operational decisions for WLU and is comprised of a President, President-Elect, Past President, and six elected officers.
