The Results of the 2008 Elections Are In!

NCTE Elementary Section member Yvonne Siu-Runyan has been elected Vice President of NCTE. Siu-Runyan, professor emerita, the University of Northern Colorado, is a former classroom teacher (grades K-12), district reading specialist, and language arts coordinator. She is also a former chair of the NCTE Elementary Section Steering Committee (1998-2000).  Siu-Runyan will take office during the NCTE Annual Convention in San Antonio in November, will become president-elect in 2009, and will assume the presidency of the Council during the 2010 Annual Convention in Orlando, Florida.

**A 2005 NCTE Constitutional Amendment provided for the NCTE Executive Committee to appoint two additional members to the NCTE Nominating Committee each year (names to come).
