Janet Emig Award Criteria and Nomination Process

Purpose:  This award for exemplary scholarship is given to the author of an article published in English Education during each calendar year.  The award is given in honor of Janet Emig, Professor Emeritus of English Education at Rutgers University, for her contribution to the field of English Education.

Criteria for the Award: 
1.  The selection committee may consider published material of any length in English Education.
2.  The article to be awarded must have been published within the calendar year of issues being considered.

Winners will be notified in May 2008 and announced at the 2008 NCTE Fall Convention in San Antonio, Texas.
