Information for Assembly Officers

January 5, 2006


In an effort to enhance our communication to assembly officers, I’m sending a few important reminders for the new year.  I hope this information will be helpful to you. TAX EXEMPT Reports due January 30, 2006
If your assembly has tax-exempt status through NCTE, your tax-exemption report is due January 30, 2006.  To complete the annual tax exempt report, please click here: http://www.ncte.org/groups/affiliates/tax/110730.htm.  

If your assembly does not have tax exempt status through NCTE and is interested in applying, click here: http://www.ncte.org/groups/affiliates/tax/110715.htm


MEMBERSHIP LISTS need to be submitted to the NCTE Division of Communications and Affiliate Services, 1111 W. Kenyon Road, Urbana, IL  61801, or by April 3, 2006.  Membership lists must be in alphabetical order by last name, and contain full mailing addresses (street address, city, state, zip code) of members.  E-mail addresses are welcomed.

If your affiliate or assembly is using the Manage My Organization online program (see http://www.ncte.org/groups/affiliates/officer/118839.htm), you do not need to submit a list. Please make sure your information in the program is current.


Submit your proposals for the 2006 NCTE Convention (http://www.ncte.org/profdev/conv/annual/news/123124.htm), by January 10th via U.S. mail or January 17th if submitted online


Your Special Interest Group Meeting Request (if applicable) must be submitted to Carol Wagner ( or 800-369-6283, ext. 3670) before March 1, 2006 by the chair of each assembly. An individualized letter with information and form(s) was sent to each chair in December 2005.  Please contact Carol Wagner with questions or concerns – she’d be happy to help you.


ARE THERE CHANGES IN YOUR ASSEMBLY’S OFFICERS?  If your assembly has changed officers in the last few months, please send your updated roster list (with contact information) to Jodi Mahoney at .
