The Assembly for National Board Certified Teachers
The purpose of the assembly is to promote National Board Certification as a hallmark of effective, professional English language arts instruction; to harness the resources and expertise inherent in a group of National Board Certified Teachers to benefit students, teachers, and schools; to assist and mentor educators in achieving certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS); to share information about Certification renewal requirements and ongoing changes in the National Board Certification process; to provide a forum for National Board Certified Teachers and those committed to standards set by the NBPTS; to organize and/or contribute to professional development opportunities, reinforcing the core propositions and standards established by the NBPTS; to celebrate the achievements of National Board Certified Teachers to the National Council of Teachers of English and the field of English language arts education.
