Women in Literacy and Life Assembly (WILLA)

The purpose of this assembly is to improve the teaching of English language arts by focusing attention on gender-related issues in literacy teaching and learning, including the status and the image of women and girls, men and boys; to advise the profession at large on issues relating to the role and images of women; and to foster the exchange of ideas and perspectives among people interested in gender issues relating to English. Members receive the newsletter Crosscurrents twice a year and the journal WILLA annually.

For information, visit the WILLA Web page at http://www.luc.edu/orgs/willa/willahome.html, or contact Lisa Hazlett, Membership Chair/Treasurer, 421 Sterling St., Vermillion, SD 57069-3422; 605-677-6293.  Annual dues are $15.
