Assembly on Literature and Culture of Appalachia (ALCA)

The purpose of ALCA is to promote communication and cooperation among all individuals who have a special interest in teaching and studying Appalachian literature and culture. The assembly presents programs and special projects on this subject; encourages the development of research, experimentation, and investigation of effective teaching and scholarship in Appalachian literature and culture; promotes the writing of articles and publications devoted to Appalachian literature and culture; and integrates the efforts of those with an interest in the subject. Members receive a journal.
