The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation seeks to achieve greater quality and equality of educational opportunity in the United States and throughout the world through grants that support increased student achievement, improved access to exemplary educational content, and other goals as outlined on its web site.
NCTE Announces Small Meetings Fund
In an effort to increase the opportunities for professional development, NCTE will bi-annually review requests for small meeting fund allocations with a maximum total of $10,000 to be awarded in a fiscal year.
Edwyna Wheadon Postgraduate Training Scholarship Fund
Edwyna Wheadon Postgraduate Training Scholarship funds will provide funding for professional development experiences for English/Language Arts teachers in public educational institutions. The purpose of the scholarship is to support postgraduate training to enhance teaching skills and/or career development in teaching.
Washington Mutual Corporate Giving
Washington Mutual, a banking and financial services company, seeks to make the communities it serves stronger through grants supporting K-12 public education, financial education and affordable housing.
Citigroup Smarter Schools & Smarter Classrooms Grants
Grants given to support early childhood through higher education on a national basis. In early childhood and primary/secondary education, grants support early literacy development and technology-based curriculum resources. The Foundation provides grants for teacher training and innovative teaching strategies that increase student achievement.
