Motion 2012:38
To approve the NCTE Position Statement on Teacher Evaluation.
Motion 2012:39
That NCTE will develop and disseminate a variety of guidelines and resources to inform, support, and strengthen the teacher-evaluation process, differentiated for various groups within and outside the Council (i.e., teachers, literacy coaches, supervisors).
Motion 2012:40
Through the work of NCTE, by the end of FY13, teachers, administrators, policymakers, and journalists will be aware of the lack of validity and the negative consequences of value-added measures as a basis for teacher evaluation.
Motion 2012:41
By the end of FY15, in schools across the United States, NCTE will have supported teacher evaluators in developing and implementing more collaborative and constructive evaluation processes that affirm NCTE principles of teacher quality.
Motion 2012:42
By the end of FY15, in schools across the United States, NCTE will have supported teachers in shaping the ways in which their work is evaluated and in planning professional learning experiences.
