Attracting, Supporting and Advancing Early Career Educators - Previous Revision

Over the next three years NCTE should make more visible its services and resources specifically targeting the varied needs of early career teachers through every channel available including print publications, meetings, online/digital, and other emerging technologies. NCTE should pay particular attention to assisting early career teachers as they build their theoretical frameworks, broaden their understandings of literacy and teaching strategies, and build collegial relationships within the NCTE community. Beginning in 2010 NCTE will survey early career teachers regarding the ease and accessibility of Council resources/services and teachers’ engagement in the Council. Survey results should show measured improvement over the three-year strategic governance period.
