ReadWriteThink offers a wide array of standards-based lesson plans that meaningfully integrate Internet content into the plans teaching and/or learning experience. Lessons can be selected according to grade band (K–2, 3–5, 6–8, 9–12) and area of literacy practice. Each lesson is research-based, and includes a detailed instructional plan. The lessons are written for the teacher but include student-ready materials such as worksheets, interactives, and reviewed Web resources.
You can access your journals by logging in with your user id and password through http://wwwdev.ncte.org. Your default user id/account number is the six digit number which appears above your name on NCTE mailings. Your default password is your last name.

If you are a member, the six digit number that appears one the top line of your mailing label on any materials received from NCTE, is your membership/id number. This is also your default login for your account online. You would use this six digit number as your user id and your last name as your password.

Yes, you can log into your account and click on the My Profile tab at the top of the page to change your user id and password. Once you have updated your user id and password, you would scroll to the bottom of the page and hit submit to save the changes.
Please make sure to enter an alphanumeric combination for both your user id and password, and please avoid using any special characters when creating your user id and password.
If you purchase your subscription through our online store, we run the access program every 3 hours starting at 7 am Central Time and running through 10 pm Central Time. If you join between 10 pm Central Time and 7 am Central Time, your access will be given during the 7 am Central Time update.
If you purchased your subscription by phone, please allow 48 hours processing time if done Monday through Thursday or 72 hours if done on Friday.
