What is my member number?

Your member number is the six digit number located above your name on your NCTE mailings.

How long does my membership last?

Annual membership in NCTE is anniversary-date based starting from the date your membership is processed and continuing for the next 364 days.

What is the cost of membership?

The fee for an individual is $50.00 per year and the fee for a full-time student is $25.00 per year.

What are the benefits of becoming an NCTE Member?

Please visit the pages for individual, student, emeritus, and lifetime memberships, as well as, the institutional subscription and comprehensive subscription pages for more information.

How do I join NCTE?

You can join by phone 877-369-6283, by fax 217-328-9645, online, or by mail:

How do I access my journals online?

You can access your journals by logging in with your user id and password.  Your default user id is your member number (the six digit number which appears above your name on NCTE mailings as shown below).  Your default password is your last name.  Once you are logged into your account, simply visit the web pages for the journals you subscribe to.

What methods of payment do you accept?

NCTE accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, check, money order, or purchase order as payment.  Unfortunately, we do not accept American Express at this time.

How do I make changes to my renewal?

If you are mailing in your renewal form, please make any changes directly on the form.  Changes are currently not able to be processed through the online renewal system.  If you would like to renew and make the changes by phone, please contact NCTE Customer Service at 877-369-6283.

How do I renew online?

Simply log in to the website and go to either the homepage or the Renew Your Membership page.  Click on the "Renew my Membership" button in the upper right (it is shown to the right for reference).  If you don't see the button, fill out the Contact NCTE Form or call NCTE Customer Service at 877-369-6283.

How soon will I receive my membership card?

Your membership card will arrive three to four weeks after your membership is processed.  If you have not received your membership card by the fourth week or would like to request a replacement card, simply fill out the Contact NCTE Form or call NCTE Customer Service at 877-369-6283. 

To access online resources:

  • If you joined online, please use the six digit user id you were given and your last name as the password.
  • If you joined through a method other than online, please contact NCTE Customer Service to request your login by phone at 877-369-6283, or online through the Contact NCTE Form.

Can an institution be a member of NCTE?

Currently membership in NCTE is only available to individuals.  Institutions can however subscribe ot our journals.  Pricing information can be obtained by contacting NCTE Customer Service by phone at 877-369-6283 or online through the Contact NCTE Form.

How do I get an order confirmation?

You can request a order confirmation by contacting NCTE Customer Service by phone at 877-369-6283, by fax at 217-328-9645, or online through the Contact NCTE Form.

Can I change my user id and password?

Yes, simply log into the website and click on "My Account" in the top, right of the screen.

Please make sure to enter an alphanumeric combination for both your user id and password, and please avoid using any special characters when creating your user id and password.

As a teacher/educator, how do I introduce my pre-service teachers to NCTE and it's many resources?

Through paticipation the Student/Instructor Program.
